Students visited the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium in San Pedro on Thursday 10-24-24. They toured the interactive museum learning about the local marine wildlife. They were partnered up and created art by applying paint to one side of a fish which they used to make an imprint on paper. Then, they dissected a mackerel and learned to identify important organs like the gills, heart, liver, stomach, and testes/ovaries. Finally, a tour of the museum's adjacent salt marsh where students searched for wildlife while learning how important these spaces are for coastal biodiversity. Thanks to the staff at CMA for the awesome enriching experience!
